Introduction

NPS-API is an API developed under the NP Tracker project and is used to interface and enquire the NPS database for NP Tracker reports on vehicle registration numbers and is available to the community, crime fighting groups and developers the API documentation is available here.

You can use the NPS-API user/usage page to set up your account and purchase new tokens the first 150 each month is Free.

As this is a paid service token details are to be kept secret and is limited to one site usage only (A new token can be generated here).

PS: Only by casting the net wider will we be able to catch more criminals, so get your fellow group admins to join their groups to one of the NP Tracker projects OR just get them to add a freemirror BOT to there group so it to can be scanned for plates.

  2. Server interface

    1. Open a connection to the server (serv.nptracker.co.za) port 40
      • telnet serv.nptracker.co.za 40
    2. You will then be welcomed please authenticate it with your token
      • $>AUTH {YOUR TOKEN HERE}
    3. you can now start testing plates.
      • $>test abc123gp
    4. It will return with the plate followed by a true or false true being there is a report for the plate and false not
      If you found a plate to get a report on just do.
      • $>nps abc123gp
    5. Test the following plate... (send a ping command every couple of seconds to keep connection alive - timeout set to 60 seconds)
